Morning Rituals + Routines

WHY MORNING IS A SACRED TIME + GUIDED MEDITATION & JOURNALING PROMPTS

When we choose to prioritize our mindset and wellbeing first thing in the morning, we are setting ourselves up for a more productive, empowered and creative day.

In order to shine with our brightest light, we must create space to connect with ourselves, slow down and do something positive that will impact not only our day, but our life. Every good thing takes time and creating a morning ritual it’s all about practice and most importantly having an open mind + heart to explore and discover what makes us feel our best.

Nowadays it can be very easy to let ourselves get overwhelmed by other people’s routines; we might think that we are not doing it right, not enough or is just another thing to add on our ‘to do list,’ but the truth is that having a morning ritual does NOT have to be complicated. It’s not about doing a certain amount of specific tasks, but rather the feeling you get from doing those tasks.

This is YOUR personal time, and nobody can tell you how that should look like. Be open to explore different things and be aware of those that help you raise your vibration and personal power.

It’s important that we remain fluid and flexible with our morning and daily rituals as life is constantly moving and our schedules will not always be the same. You can choose this opportunity to remain creative by listening to what your body + mind + soul might need that day.

By prioritizing ourselves: Mind + Body & Soul first thing in the morning, we not only promote a more calm, positive and grounded mindset, but we are able to actually be the best version of ourselves.

Here are my top 5 non-negotiable morning rituals:

1. MEDITATION

By putting this morning practice first, I found that it helped me start the day much more peacefully and grounded. A feeling of calm and control that not only lasts through the morning, but through the rest of my entire day. Having ten minutes of silence and stillness each morning allows my subconscious mind to do good work behind the scenes, which means that I go into each day with a clear focus on what my priorities should be and what I want to to attract in life.

2. LEMON WATER ON AN EMPTY STOMACH

Lemon water is a mixture of freshly squeezed lemon juice and warm water. Not only do I find it extremely soothing in the morning, but it’s also packed with a ton of great benefits! Lemon Water increases your urine production and fends off bloating. It offers detox benefits, helps to replenish the water lost overnight, cleanses the liver, and contains a lot of healthy vitamin C which boosts your immune and digestive system.

3. GRATITUDE JOURNALING

A daily gratitude practice shifts my vibrations from focusing on what I don't have to what is already abundant in my life. There is more to be grateful for than you could possibly imagine!

"Gratitude works its magic by serving as an antidote to negative emotions. It's like white blood cells for the soul, protecting us from cynicism, entitlement, anger, and resignation." – Arianna Huffington.

4. BRAIN MUSIC

I like to think of music as food for my soul and mind. It definitely is one of my favorite mood boosters! I like listening to soothing and relaxing music preferably with no words in the morning. I’ve noticed that it impacts my productivity and enhances my creativity. It keeps me mentally balanced, calms my body and allows me to move with ease throughout the day.

5. NO ELECTRONICS- MORNING WALK

Every morning I take my doggie Mila out for a no electronics- walk. I used to wake up and and immediately check my phone which increased my stress and anxiety. My thoughts, ideas, and focus were quickly hijacked by the new messages, emails, and notifications. In other words, my mind was occupied with other people’s agenda instead of my own.No electronics- morning walks allow for my mind to relax, remain present and set the tone for a more productive a positive day.

For my early riser friends, I encourage you to consider getting an acupuncture treatment before starting your day. It’s been two months since I’ve been getting acupuncture to help relieve my daily stress and anxiety and I all I can say is that I feel a lot more balanced and energized throughout the day.

Interested in taking your health and well-being to the next level, here’s what my acupuncturist Rebecca Chang has to say:

“For the early birds that want to get their day started with more focus and mental clarity, acupuncture clears away any stagnation that may have built from sleeping. Similar to the surge of energy you get from a good work out.

For the snoozers that never want to wake up, a quick session helps you get that 30-minute power nap before the day. This builds your mind because acupuncture helps with fatigue and low energy! “
