Ear Seeding
Also know as Auriculotherapy
Gentle support. Ongoing relief. Small points, big impact.
Ear seeding—also known as auriculotherapy—is a non-invasive therapy that uses gentle acupressure on specific points of the ear to support balance in the body and nervous system. Rooted in Chinese Medicine, this treatment is based on the idea that the ear is a microsystem of the entire body, with each point corresponding to an organ, emotion, or body function.
Unlike acupuncture, ear seeding does not involve needles. Instead, tiny beads or seeds are applied to the surface of the ear using a medical adhesive, allowing the treatment to continue working for several days after your visit.
How Ear Seeding Works
The ear contains hundreds of reflex points connected to the brain and nervous system. Ear seeds—traditionally from the Vaccaria plant, or small metal or crystal beads—are placed on specific points chosen based on your concerns.
Once applied, the seeds provide continuous, gentle stimulation. You can also press on them throughout the day to enhance their effect. This makes ear seeding an excellent way to extend the benefits of acupuncture between sessions or to receive support on its own.
Seeds are typically worn for 3–5 days and can be easily removed at home.
Benefits of Ear Seeding
Ear seeding is subtle but powerful. It’s commonly used to support:
Stress and anxiety regulation
Improved sleep quality
Nervous system calming
Digestive balance
Pain relief and tension reduction
Addiction support and craving reduction
Many patients notice a sense of grounding and emotional ease within a short period of time.
Ear Seeding At Acuworx
At Acuworx, ear seeding is offered both as a complimentary addition to an acupuncture treatment.
We use high-quality ear seeds, chosen for comfort, durability, and effectiveness.
Ear seeds are applied to address stress, anxiety, digestion, pain, and smoking cessation/addiction.
What to Expect During Ear Seeding Treatment
Ear seed application takes only a few minutes. Your practitioner will select points based on your symptoms and goals, then apply the seeds with care and precision.
Once placed, you’ll be shown how to gently stimulate the seeds for added effect. Seeds are removed after several days, allowing the ear to rest before the next application if needed.
Consistency matters. Ear seeding works best when used regularly or alongside acupuncture as part of a broader treatment plan.
